Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How are the rates set for the nursing home?

Answer: All resident room rates are set by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care on annual basis. Persons occupying a basic accommodation may qualify for a subsidized rate. Determination is made upon admission.

Residents in basic accommodation may apply annually for a reduction in the accommodation rate. In order to complete this application, a resident’s Notice of Assessment for the previous year is required and the rate reduction can only be initiated for the month in which it is signed by the resident or his/her designate.

The home is under obligation to charge the full basic rate until the required information is provided. It is the responsibility of the resident/POA to complete the Rate Reduction Form and to provide the Office Manager with the current Notice of Assessment.

Question: Do you have activities at the nursing home?

Answer: Absolutely! We have daily activities, as well as off-site activities to locations like the Chi-Cheemaun, and also have fundraising activities.

You can see more activities and a schedule of events here.
